One day i met a certain lady who later became my friend, she shared with me her life story how she and the other five siblings were abandoned by their father and mother, a family of six children never went to school, didn’t have a home and each went his or her own way.
As a result of this, she told me she got married at the age of 13 and God blessed her with four children, but the marriage later broke as the husband was very irresponsible, she had never really loved him because she had no choice as she was homeless, she entered the marriage against her will.
All the four children again were left to grow up with neither of their parents, they became bitter and one of the girls became unruly because of the suffering, lack of love, parental care and guardianship. The most painful part is that she became vulnerable to street boys who impregnated her.
This family is an example of what happens when children at their formation stage are deprived of love, education, parental care and guardianship. Such stories and many others you will be getting from us stimulated my passion towards the birth of the vision of the ‘TOWER OF HOPE’ and later, the construction of the children’s home and the school.
May the purpose of this story show you the chain of suffering that is involving thousands of abandoned African children.
You and i through this vision can make a difference in these children’s lives by giving them hope, home, free education, food, clothings and medication, all these will put a smile on their faces and give them hope for a better tomorrow.
May God bless you.
